The Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo’s injury had been diagnosed as a torn right Achilles, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.

With recovery from that type of injury typically taking close to a year, he could be sidelined for the entire next season.

DiVincenzo remained under contract for $12,535,000 in 2026/27 and was set to become an unrestricted free agent the following summer.

The injury occurred just over a minute into Game 4, when DiVincenzo went down on a three-point attempt without contact, immediately grabbing his leg and signaling for help.

The nature of the fall quickly raised concern about an Achilles issue, which was later confirmed.

Before the injury, DiVincenzo had been a key contributor for the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 14.3 points per game in the series and delivering strong all-around performances in Games 2 and 3.

With him sidelined, players such as Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland were expected to take on increased responsibilities, while Terrence Shannon Jr. could also see a larger role in the rotation.
