Here’s Minnesota Timberwolves guard Bones Hyland on the team being without Donte DiVincenzo after he suffered a torn right Achilles tendon during Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round vs. the Denver Nuggets (averaged 10.8 PPG/3.8 RPG/4.0 APG/1.0 TOV/1.8 SPG/2.5 PF/50.0% FG/55.6% 2-PT/47.8% 3-PT/67.2% eFG/24.0 MPG in four 2026 postseason starts).

“At first, it was emotional to see him back just rolling around in the chairs. We never seen Donte like that. But man, he’s a warrior, man. You don’t see no emotions on his face. He come in every day still doing his treatment. He’s attacking it every day. I know it’ll be a long recovery for him. He had a phenomenal season. He was our top dawg, man. He did all the scrappy plays for us. He was our glue guy, man. And I feel like that’s something that we really missed a lot in the playoffs when he went down: just that scrappy guy that can get under guys, his shooting ability, too. Yeah, we missed Donte a lot, but he’s a big piece for our team. Yeah, and I wish him a speedy recovery for sure. And we’re also from the same place, so it hits a little different.”
