Quick 2026 NBA Draft notes.

  • Will we see any changes to the top-4 team/player-wise? The Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bulls could go as many mocks predict with AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Caleb Wilson. Although, the draft is over a month away, so who knows if these teams trade their pick or select these players.
  • The Los Angeles Clippers at No. 5 (from IND) is interesting to me because of the opportunity to play extended minutes at picks 6 & 7 (Brooklyn Nets & Sacramento Kings). You definitely wonder what the Clippers have in mind for the role of their lottery pick compared to BKN and SAC (Nets still trying to find who fits young core/Kings need all the talent they can get).
  • I’ve seen Keaton Wagler, Darius Acuff Jr., Kingston Flemings, and Mikel Brown Jr. as possible guard selections at 5, 6, 7, and 9 (Dallas Mavericks) on several mocks with big man Aday Mara rising all the way up to the Atlanta Hawks at No. 8 (from NOP).
  • Picks 10-14 is where the draft might get entertaining, as the selections of the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder (from LAC), Miami Heat, and Charlotte Hornets aren’t entirely similar on different mocks.
  • Lastly, look out for the amount of picks teams have/seniors that will go later in the draft. The Memphis Grizzlies at 3, 16 (from PHX via ORL), and 32 (from IND via MIL), Chicago Bulls at 4, 15 (from POR), 38 (from NOP via BOS, DET, and POR), and 56 (from DEN via MIN, PHX, CHA, and PHX), Atlanta Hawks at 8, 23 (from CLE), and 57 (from BOS), Dallas Mavericks at 9, 30 (from OKC via WAS and PHI), and 48 (from PHX via WAS), Oklahoma City Thunder at 12, 17 (from PHI), and 37 (from DAL), and Charlotte Hornets at 14 and 18 (from ORL via PHX) intrigue me the most. Also, Matt Babcock’s latest 2026 mock draft has 27 seniors going in the 2nd Round, which is pretty cool to see for the older players.
