The 2K fans reacted after a week of the official release.
The NBA 2K26 was released last week, September 5, while the early access versions started a week before the official version.
Now that the official release is worldwide, most fans demand a defensive buff in the perimeter as it slides away from the offense due to the animation.
The 2K Intel tweets if the defense needed a buff, as most fans reacted affirming the need to adjust.
2K fans’ reactions on defense
Even before the regular versions, the lack of defense is already an issue for most fans. Specifically, they complained about steals, where it was hard to determine how it was done.
The pluck steals were fixed after complaints, but the defensive side difficulty remained since it was not a big deal for the others. In addition, Mike Wang said that they have already improved the collision detection for the ball.
It became a meme about the 2K defense, especially when a predicted three-pointer or jumpshot, but going on a green light should be avoided.
NBA 2K26 was slightly different from the older versions because it became harder to get a stop on defense when the momentum was continuously going.
“Getting a stop is mission impossible,” said Chad Benz on X.
The feedback from the fans who purchased the Superstar, Leave No Doubt Editions, or the early access is entirely similar to what they discussed in the defense revamp.
