Second-year Washington Wizards center Alex Sarr turned heads with a strong performance for the French national team in a EuroBasket warm-up game against Montenegro, according to Eurohoops.
France came away with an 81–75 win, and Sarr made a notable impact in limited minutes. The 7-footer contributed 19 points and grabbed four rebounds in just under 14 minutes (13:49) on the court, showcasing both efficiency and promise ahead of the main tournament.
Sarr, who was selected by the Wizards with the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, had an impressive rookie campaign in Washington. His contributions throughout the 2024–25 season earned him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
In 67 games where he remained healthy, Sarr averaged 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game – highlighting his well-rounded skill set on both ends of the floor.
He wasn’t the only Wizard representing France, either. Teammate Bilal Coulibaly also suited up for the French squad, adding 10 points of his own in the victory.
