The Los Angeles Clippers bolstered their roster with high-profile signings and trades this summer, but a team executive admitted the starting five still needs work before the 2025–26 NBA season tips off.
Keith Smith of Spotrac reported that the Clippers front office is pleased with the team’s depth after acquiring Brook Lopez, John Collins, Bradley Beal, and Chris Paul. One executive told Smith, “I couldn’t be happier with the moves we’ve been able to make. We’re as deep as we’ve been in years now. We’re ready to contend for a title.”
Despite that confidence, the same official acknowledged that the starting lineup remains unsettled. “We’ve got to do some work for sure. The good thing is that we have all kinds of options,” the executive added, noting that players like Lopez, Beal, Paul, Collins, and others are more concerned with winning than individual roles.
The Clippers enter their second season at Intuit Dome in Inglewood with championship aspirations, and their offseason moves reflect that mindset. Adding Lopez from Milwaukee and trading for Collins from Utah set the tone, while the acquisitions of Beal and Paul further solidified the backcourt.
Bogdan Bogdanovic, whom the executive called “important for us,” also figures to play a key role in the team’s rotation. Returning veterans Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Ivica Zubac add to what is now considered one of the league’s deepest rosters.
