Real Madrid has reportedly offered a lucrative two-year deal to Serbian guard Vasilije Micic, signaling its intent to bring the former EuroLeague MVP back to Europe, according to Eurohoops.
Micic, 31, was officially cleared to return to the EuroLeague this week after finalizing a buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks. He agreed to return $6.1 million of his $8.1 million salary for the 2025–26 season, opening the door for his next move.
The veteran playmaker was acquired by Milwaukee earlier this month as part of the seven-team trade that also sent Kevin Durant to Houston. He never played a game for the Bucks before reaching the buyout agreement, which helped the team manage its salary cap.
Multiple EuroLeague clubs have expressed interest in Micic, including Anadolu Efes, Crvena Zvezda, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Hapoel Tel Aviv. However, Real Madrid’s proposal appears to be the most substantial at this stage.
Micic played 41 games during the 2024–25 NBA season, splitting time between the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns before being traded twice more in a span of days. With Charlotte, he averaged 10.8 points and 6.2 assists over 30 games, starting in 21 of them.
His time in the NBA began in 2023 with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he saw limited opportunities. His production increased significantly with Charlotte but declined after subsequent moves to Phoenix and Milwaukee.
Before heading to the NBA, Micic achieved major success in Europe with Anadolu Efes. He won back-to-back EuroLeague titles and earned Final Four MVP honors in 2021 while averaging 17.4 points and 5.4 assists in his final EuroLeague season.
Real Madrid finished seventh in the 2024–25 EuroLeague regular season, qualifying for the play-in tournament.
