Vasilije Micic has officially been cleared to return to the EuroLeague after reaching a buyout agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to reports from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype and Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Micic, 31, gave up $6.1 million in the buyout, enabling the Bucks to stretch his and Damian Lillard’s cap hits to remain under the 15% salary cap stretch threshold. The Serbian guard was traded to Milwaukee earlier this month but will now explore opportunities back in Europe.

The veteran playmaker has drawn interest from top EuroLeague clubs, including former teams Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda, as well as Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Micic played 41 games in the 2024–25 NBA season, splitting time between the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns. With Charlotte, he averaged 10.8 points and 6.2 assists over 30 games, including 21 starts, before being moved twice in a span of days.

After a brief five-game stint in Phoenix, Micic was traded again to Charlotte and then to Milwaukee in a deal that sent Pat Connaughton and draft picks to Charlotte.

Micic first joined the league in 2023 with the Oklahoma City Thunder but saw limited minutes in his rookie campaign. His production improved significantly in Charlotte, though he struggled to find consistency.

Before coming to the NBA, Micic starred in the EuroLeague with Anadolu Efes, where he was named Final Four MVP in 2021. In his final EuroLeague season, he averaged 17.4 points and 5.4 assists while leading Efes to back-to-back titles.
