The trade that sent Caleb Martin to Dallas in exchange for Quentin Grimes hasn’t paid off for the Mavericks yet, as Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.

While Grimes has been thriving and playing some of his best basketball with the 76ers, Martin has struggled to make an impact due to lingering hip issues, limiting him to just five games with Dallas so far.

Despite his inability to contribute on the court, Martin is still finding ways to help his team from the sidelines. He has taken on a vocal role, pointing out key trends and defensive schemes to his teammates to keep them engaged.

“I’ve always been the type that if I see something, I say something,” the player told Curtis. “I just feel like that’s a way I can impact the game, whether I’m playing or not.”

Martin has played 6 seasons for 4 teams, including the Heat and Hornets. He has averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 302 regular-season games.
