In an interview with Grant Afseth for RG.org, Zhaire Smith, a former NBA first-round pick, shared his appreciation for the chance he’s received with the Texas Legends.
He expressed how the team has made him feel welcome, saying, “They’ve welcomed me with open arms.”
Beyond his time with the Mavericks’ G League affiliate, Smith also touched on his experience scrimmaging with Mavs players who were recovering from injuries, including the notable Anthony Davis.
Smith mentioned that he and Davis would likely scrimmage again, adding, “I think we’re going to do it again sometime this week,” suggesting that another G League stint for Davis could be on the horizon.
