The Dallas Mavericks are currently facing a shortage of big man depth due to injuries to key frontcourt players Dereck Lively II and Maxi Kleber.

In response to this need, the Mavericks made a strategic adjustment involving their two-way players. Dallas decided to waive guard Jazian Gortman from his two-way contract and, in turn, signed center Kylor Kelley to a two-way deal.

Gortman had seen limited action this season, playing just 56 minutes across 16 appearances with the Mavericks.

While his role with the team was modest, the Mavericks are prioritizing strengthening their frontcourt by bringing in Kelley, a center who could provide valuable depth during this injury stretch.
