Several college programs have reportedly reached out to representatives for Jazian Gortman to gauge whether the 22-year-old guard might consider returning to the college level, according to reporting from Jeff Goodman of Field of 68.
Gortman is currently playing for the Oklahoma City Blue in the G League, but his name has drawn attention from NCAA coaches curious about his availability.
Gortman previously competed in the Overtime Elite program during the 2022/23 season, went undrafted in 2023, and has since built his professional résumé through multiple stints in the G League.
Unlike some recent cases, his path includes actual NBA experience.
He signed Exhibit 10 deals with the Bucks, Mavericks, and Thunder, and during the 2024/25 season, he spent more than three months on a two-way contract with Dallas, appearing in 16 NBA games.
Despite the interest, Gortman has reportedly made it clear that returning to college basketball is not something he’s considering.
Still, the outreach itself highlights how college programs are increasingly willing to explore unconventional eligibility situations, especially as the NCAA continues to loosen its interpretation of what qualifies as amateur status.
The fact that a player with NBA game experience is even being contacted underscores how much the landscape has shifted.
