Stephen Curry has filed trademark applications for “NUIT. NUIT.” to protect his French version of the “night night” celebration.

The Golden State Warriors star popularized the gesture during the 2022 NBA Finals, and he wore a “NUIT. NUIT.” shirt after winning gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The term, French for “NIGHT NIGHT,” is now a focal point of Curry’s branding efforts.

Josh Gerben, founder of Gerben IP, reported that Curry’s filings cover both the EU and US markets. The applications were submitted recently, following the release of a shirt featuring Curry’s image and the “NUIT. NUIT.” phrase by Fanatics.

Curry’s move to secure the trademark reflects his desire to control the use of his signature celebration. The phrase gained prominence as part of Curry’s iconic celebration, cementing its place in basketball culture.

The “NUIT. NUIT.” trademark aims to prevent unauthorized use and ensure that Curry’s brand remains associated with his personal and professional milestones.
