Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry reacted to his crossover against Luka Doncic, which left the Los Angeles Lakers guard off balance and gave Curry a wide-open opportunity.
Curry admitted that he did not expect the move to create so much separation, comparing the moment to a memorable play by former NBA star James Harden.
“You’re just trying to get a little bit of space. I didn’t expect it to get, you know, that nasty, but it was one of those you got to kind of keep your composure. I remember James Harden had to do the shimmy to get himself going back in the day. I haven’t been that open in a long time,” Curry said.
The four-time NBA champion also discussed his reaction to the play, explaining that his on-court celebrations reflect how much he continues to enjoy basketball.
“I just love this game. All my mannerisms are all over the place because I’m just having fun. In those moments, especially at this stage of your career, you’re just appreciative of the ability to keep playing at this level. And I want that joy to continue until I’m done.”
