Gary Payton II has chosen to remain with the Golden State Warriors for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season by exercising his player option, according to reports.
ESPN’s Kendra Andrews confirmed that Payton II will opt-in to his $9.1 million contract, providing him with the opportunity to negotiate an extension with the Warriors during this offseason.
The decision ensures continuity for Payton II, who played a significant role off the bench for the Warriors during the previous season.
Known for his defensive prowess and energy, the 31-year-old shooting guard contributed an average of 5.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 15.5 minutes per game.
