Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently launched the “Mind The Game” podcast alongside retired player JJ Redick, diving deep into the intricacies of basketball.

In a post-game interview following the Lakers’ victory over the Indiana Pacers, James revealed the driving force behind their decision to start the podcast.

Expressing concern about the direction of basketball discourse, James highlighted a desire to preserve the essence of the game and impart its true meaning to younger generations.

The four-time NBA champion stated, “I feel we were losing the essence of the game of basketball and the true meaning behind it, teaching our youth what it truly means.”

He emphasized the importance of understanding the essence of basketball beyond statistical comparisons and legacy debates, aiming to provide a more nuanced perspective on the game.

James further added, “Approach and understand what really the essence of the game is, how I fell in love with it.”

Partnering with Redick, known for his basketball IQ and passion for the sport, James saw an opportunity to create content that resonates with fans and offers valuable insights into the intricacies of basketball.

James explained, “When you have someone like JJ who has the same mindset about the game, very smart, you know, fell in love with the game for all the right reasons. This is something I’ve been thinking about for quite a while.”
