Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle expressed frustration over the significant free-throw and foul differentials following his team’s close defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers in a high-scoring game (145-150).

Despite a valiant effort from the Pacers, led by Pascal Siakam’s 36-point performance, they fell short against the Lakers as dynamic duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James spearheaded their team’s victory.

Spencer Dinwiddie’s impactful contributions off the bench further bolstered the Lakers’ offensive firepower, ensuring their highest-scoring game in over three decades.

Indiana’s resilience kept them in contention throughout the game, but the disparity in free-throw attempts ultimately proved challenging to overcome.

Carlisle voiced his concerns over the 27-point disparity in free-throw attempts between the Pacers and the Lakers (16 against 43).

“There were certain things that were impossible to overcome…The 27 free throw differential is one and the 17 foul differential is the other. And I’ll leave it at that,” Carlisle said postgame.
