Former NBA center and “Survivor” contestant Scot Pollard has successfully undergone a heart transplant, as announced by his wife, Dawn, in a post on social media.
She shared that the surgery went well, and the transplanted heart is described as big, powerful, and a perfect fit. Dawn expressed gratitude to the donor, acknowledging them as their “hero.”
Pollard had previously mentioned the need to find a donor with a similar frame, and the successful transplant took place at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s ICU on February 7th. Pollard is now focused on the crucial phase of recovery.
