For the second year in a row the Celtics and the Heat meet in the Eastern Conference Finals. Miami drew first blood by defeating Boston in Game 1 on the road (123-116).
Jaylen Brown who was the second-top scorer for the Celtics with 22 points, behind Jayson Tatum who had 30 points, thought that his team came out too relaxed in Game 1 of the series.
“We came out too cool like it was just almost we were just playing a regular season game. It’s the Eastern Conference Finals. Like, come on. We got to play with more intensity than we did today. And we just got to be better including me,” Brown said postgame.
