Despite being the 8-seed to enter the playoffs, the Heat find themselves in the Eastern Conference Finals. Furthermore, Miami defeated the Celtics in Game 1 (123-116).

Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 35 points as his team recorded a road win. According to the 33-year-old star, there was always belief in Miami that the team can go far in postseason.

“Damn right, I did. Damn right, we did,” Butler said when asked if he believed that the Heat could go this far when the team played in the play-in tournament. “And the best part about it is we still don’t care what none of y’all think honestly speaking.

“We don’t care if you pick us to win. We never have. We never will. We know the group of guys we have in this locker room. We know that coach Spo put so much confidence and belief in each and every one of us. Coach Pat as well.

“So our circle’s small, but the circle got so much love for one another. We pump constant confidence into everybody. And we go out there and hoop we play basketball the right way knowing that we always got a chance.”
