The Heat failed to seize the opportunity against the short-handed Lakers team that missed Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Lonnie Walker IV.

Miami lost 109-112 in a tight game in which Dennis Schroder stepped up for Los Angeles with 32 points. Bam Adebayo scored 30 points and Jimmy Butler added 27, but it wasn’t enough for Erik Spoelstra’s team.

Spoelstra was disappointed that his team failed to secure the win against the Lakers, continuing the trend that has been going on this season.

“It’s just been extremely disappointing. Every time we get a little bit of footing on the season and then we have a disappointing loss. That’s what this was tonight,” he said, per Anthony Chiang.
