The new Lakers head coach Darvin Ham has said on numerous occasions that under him the team will be focused on defense first. Anthony Davis seems to be fully on board with that mindset.
In a recent interview the 29-year-old forward said he expects Los Angeles to be strongest in defense and is ready to lead the team by example on that end of the floor.
“That’s where we’ll be at our strongest, defensively,” Davis said. “I’m going to demand we stay committed and lead on that end, as well. I love playing defense. I think you’ll see a much different Lakers team, and I can’t wait to get out there.”
AD is one of the best defensive big men in the league. The former number one draft pick said previously that thinks he should have won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020.
