Russell Westbrook has been included in traded rumors from early this year, yet no trade has materialized due to his huge $47 million contract which and significantly lower perceived value of the former NBA MVP.

Still, there are rumors that the 33-year-old point guard could be included in a three-team deal centered around Donovan Mitchell. Reportedly, Lakers new head coach Darvin Ham is prepared to carve a ‘real role’ for Westbrook if he remains on the roster for next season.

Sports analyst Skip Bayless thinks that the best path for the Lakers is to leave the superstar out of their roster and to sit him out because trading him is impossible.

“The single best exit strategy out from under Russell Westbrook is to pay him and send him home. Addition by subtraction,” Bayless said on UNDISPUTED.
