Arrest warrant issued for Ty Lawson

Ty Lawson is facing an arrest warrant in Colorado after failing to appear for a court hearing related to an alleged shoplifting incident.

According to court documents obtained by the California Post, authorities in Douglas County issued the warrant last week after Lawson missed his scheduled October 29 hearing.

The warrant carries a $2,500 bond.

The case stems from Lawson’s July 16 arrest in Castle Rock, Colorado, where he was accused of stealing a $34 bottle of Tito’s vodka from a liquor store.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lawson allegedly left the store without paying before walking to a nearby restaurant and drinking from the bottle.

The affidavit described the former NBA guard as “possibly drunk, as he had been stumbling around” during the incident.

Lawson was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $300 related to shoplifting.

Court records indicate that he attended an earlier hearing on October 1 but failed to appear for his next scheduled court date.

A Douglas County court official confirmed the missed appearance, which led to the arrest warrant.

Lawson has not publicly commented on the latest development.
