Former NBA forward Chris Boucher has signed with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, replacing JaVale McGee, who was waived to make room on the roster.
The 6-foot-8 forward spent last season with the Boston Celtics, appearing in nine games before being traded to the Utah Jazz at the NBA trade deadline.
Boston made the move to get below the luxury tax threshold, while Utah waived Boucher shortly after acquiring him.
Boucher will now play overseas for the first time in his professional career after spending several seasons in the NBA.
The veteran forward previously played for the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, winning championships with both organizations in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
