New York Knicks star guard Kemba Walker will face his former team, the Boston Celtics, in the NBA season opener.

Walker spoke with reporters on Tuesday and made it clear it matters the most to him to defeat his former team.

“Does it matter? Of course. It’s my old team. Yeah, it matters. I don’t go into any game thinking I wanna lose, you know? I definitely wanna win. Does it make it that much better that it’s my old team? Yeah, no question,” Walker said, via Ian Begley of SNY.

Kemba Walker also shared his excitement for his first game in Knicks uniform. He noted playing for his hometown makes the season opener even more special.
