Almost seven months after winning their 17th NBA championship, the Los Angeles Lakers finally had a banner ceremony at Staples Center to celebrate the 2020 title.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel talked about the ceremony after his team defeated the Houston Rockets. “It was awesome,” he said. “We didn’t have the full house because we’re not allowed to but the fans that were here were super loud during that moment. I just look forward to the days when we’re going to have everybody back at Staples.
“So much pride to bring a title to Laker nation and raise that banner. It’s great for AD and Bron to get up and speak directly to the fans. It got us pumped up that we’re close to… we’re heading to the playoffs with a chance to defend our title.”
