Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue reckons Rajon Rondo’s disposition is just what the team needs after acquiring the veteran point guard via trade on Thursday.

Rondo was traded by the Atlanta Hawks, who got Lou Williams, two future second-round picks and cash in exchange for the 35-year-old.

And, speaking to reporters on the development, Lue praised the player’s attitude and basketball savvy.

“He’s fiery, that’s what we need,” the coach declared (H/T Bleacher Report). “He’s tough. He understands the game. And he respects people as a straight shooter and will tell him the truth. That was my biggest thing in Boston, was just being honest with him and telling him the truth and keeping it real with him.”

Lue referred to Rondo as “pretty much my project” while he worked as an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics from 2011 to 2013. The pair are set to reunite in the hopes of bringing that long-awaited NBA Championship to the Clippers.
