Donovan Mitchell said he was ‘in shock’ by his accomplishments in his rookie season with the Utah Jazz.
Back in the 2017/18 season, the 13th pick of the 2017 NBA Draft was the Jazz’s leading scorer and also won the dunk contest during the All-Star Weekend. Mitchell was runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award.
“To do what I did my rookie year I was in shock. To be honest with you I had dreamt of it, but I didn’t expect it to happen so fast for me,” Mitchell told Sarah Todd of the Deseret News.
Mitchell has become the star of the Jazz and recently signed a five-year max contract extension with the franchise, worth $196M.
