On Tuesday, the Salt Lake City crowd made sure to welcome Donovan Mitchell with open arms.
Landing in Utah for the first time since being traded last offseason, Mitchell, now a Cleveland Cavalier, was slated to face the Jazz. As such, before the player introduction, the Vivint Arena crowd gave their good old friend and former franchise cornerstone a warm reception.
And a fitting video tribute.
Mitchell spent his first five seasons in the league as a Jazzman, helping the club to reach postseason stages year by year with his immense offensive power and uncanny potential.
The All-Star guard parted ways with Utah last offseason in a gigantic trade with the Cavs.
The Jazz eventually outlasted the Cavaliers, 116-114, with Jordan Clarkson’s clutch performance spoiling Mitchell’s comeback to Utah.
