Finishing off what they started yesterday Greece cruised past Croatia, rather more easily that anyone would anticipate and could have won even with a bigger score than 76-68, which was the final result.
In a thrilling game that was decided in the dying minutes, Dirk-less Germany managed to beat the current European champions, Russia by 76-73.
After a disasterous opening game again Greece, FYROM managed to bounce back and with a powerful performance managed to achieve their first win in the tournament.
Eurobasket debutants Great Britain hoped to book their spot in the second round on an opening night in a game against Slovenia. They were quite close to making history but a more experienced Slovenian side made a late run to avoid an upset.
Poland was leading throughout the whole game to finish victorious after fighting back numerous attempts of the Bulgarians to get back in the game.
