Sergio Scariolo will not continue as a head coach of Spanish national team. According to MARCA, Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) found Scariolo's successor, who will be officially unveiled later today.

The news of Scariolo's departure is expected to be made official at a press conference later today

Jose Antonio Orenga will be directing Spain at EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia. The 46-year-old Spaniard is not a new face in the national team having worked within Scariolo's staff team.

Even though Orenga hasn't coached a professional club or a senior national team, he was given the responsibility to lead one of the world's powerhouses.

Orenga, a former professional player, was a member of Spanish national team himself, playing 128 games for his country before retiring in 2003.

Scariolo led Spain to two Eurobasket gold medals as well as silver at the London 2012 Olympics. His last game in charge was a 107-100 loss to the United States.

Spain is expected to miss some of its key players in EuroBasket 2013. The likes of Gasol brothers and Juan Carlos Navarro are rumoured to be taking a summer off.
