The British Basketball League have confirmed that they will be taking over the Cheshire Jets franchise, saving the north-west club for now.

This news means that the Jets’ fixture against Mersey Tigers at Northgate Arena on Sunday will go ahead as planned. The BBL have also said that Cheshire’s future fixtures will also be fulfilled.

The league is however looking to have discussions with potential new owners.

In a statement made on the British Basketball League’s official Twitter account, they said: “We can confirm that the BBL will be managing the Cheshire Franchise on an interim basis whilst we have discussions with potential new owners.”
