Memphis Grizzlies backup point guard Tyus Jones has knee soreness and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, the team announced.

The Grizzlies are scheduled to play three games in that span on July 31 against the Portland Trail Blazers, Aug. 2 against the San Antonio Spurs and Aug. 3 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

In 65 games this season, Jones is averaging 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

Jones is the only other true point guard on the roster other than star rookie Ja Morant.

Guards De’Anthony Melton and Grayson Allen will be potential candidates to handle the ball more when Morant is out.
