The Charlotte Hornets have reached an agreement to acquire Tyus Jones from the Orlando Magic.

Jones had emerged as a trade option for Orlando as the team looks to move below the luxury-tax line.

For Charlotte, the move helps offset the second-round draft picks the Hornets sent out earlier Wednesday in the deal for Coby White.

Jones has appeared in 48 games this season, averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 assists in 15.7 minutes per contest.

While he owns a career three-point shooting mark of 37.3 percent, he is connecting on just 29.4 percent of his attempts this season.

Jones played for the Phoenix Suns last season.
