Tyus Jones has reached an agreement on a contract with the Denver Nuggets after recently being waived by the Dallas Mavericks following a trade at the deadline.

Jones, who is represented by Kevin Bradbury, now joins Denver to strengthen the team’s backcourt depth.

During his brief stint with Dallas, Jones appeared in eight games, averaging 3.9 points, 1.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists across 16.6 minutes per contest.

Although his role was limited, he provided steady playmaking during his time with the Mavericks.

With Denver, Jones is expected to serve as additional support at the point guard position behind starter Jamal Murray, giving the Nuggets another experienced ball-handler in their rotation.

Over his career, Jones has also gained postseason experience, appearing in 27 playoff games while averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 20.0 minutes per game.
