Tom Thibodeau is reportedly considered a “heavy favorite” for the coaching job of the New York Knicks, who started making exploratory calls to fill out a staff.
Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reported that the job is “Thibodeau is to be lost”. The team is expected to consider Mike Miller and Kenny Atkinson, and there is still a chance that John Calipari will leave Kentucky for New York, but Thibodeau appears in line for his third NBA coaching job.
Thibodeau has previously coached the Chicago Bulls since 2010-15 and the Minnesota Timberwolves since 2016-19, making a 352-246 record. He is still under contract with the Timberwolves for the 2020-21 season, which, according to Thibodeau, gives him some leeway in deciding his future.
