For over two decades, New York Knicks fans have endured frustration, heartbreak, and missed opportunities. But after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, the 2025-26 Knicks have reignited belief in a potential championship run—their first in more than 50 years.

According to a survey by James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, the message from fans is crystal clear: expectations have never been higher.

“Over 3,000 fans voiced their opinion on the New York Knicks’ upcoming season and the state of the franchise,” Edwards reported. “And, as was the case last year, the expectations are sky high from both the organization and the fans.”

A Roster Built for the Next Step

This optimism isn’t unfounded. The Knicks are bringing back all five starters and most of last season’s key role players. On top of that, they’ve made bold changes: hiring Mike Brown as head coach and strengthening the bench with the signings of Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson.

Brown, a proven leader with championship pedigree, is expected to maximize the team’s talent and build on last season’s success. With stars like Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns leading the charge, the Knicks’ ceiling has never looked higher.

A Fanbase Hungry for Glory

The Knicks’ faithful know the pain of long droughts, but this season feels different. The combination of stability, depth, and fresh coaching perspective has created a sense of urgency and belief that the long-awaited title could finally return to Madison Square Garden.

With the entire NBA watching, New York is set to enter the season as one of the East’s most dangerous contenders.
