The Greek All-Star game took place in Crete this year with fans and players enjoying themselves. Read what happened at the All-Star game below:

Greek All-Star Game 2014

Players of the Greek Leaue took a break this weekend, because of the All-Star game that took place in Chania.

The tickets were sold-out and both fans and players had a great time, while the players offered a very entertaining game.

Kicking off and right before the game, the three-point contest took place, where Sasa Vasiljevic, the Nea Kifissia player, was crowned champion after.. two finals since Giorgos Dedas scored 22 points too during the first attempt of the players in the final. At the end, Vasiljevic scored 17 against 16 points of the other contestant and got the win.

After a great final to warm up the fans, the main attraction of the day begun, with the Greek All-Stars facing Rest of the World. The lineups were the following:

Greek All-Stars:(Markopoulos-Kalafatakis) Mantzaris, Pappas, Bramos, Athinaiou, Perperoglou, Fotsis, Printezis, Maurokefalidis, Diamantidis, Tsairelis, Kavvadas, Bogris

Rest Of the World:(Bartzokas-Sfairopoulos) McCollum, Brown, Ewing Jr, Cooper. Macioulis, Lojeski, Asca, Dunston, Lasme, Gist, Stephens, Hart.

The game was full of surprises and funny events, but the top spot belongs to Pappas who missed the first of three free-throws 1,6″ before the end of the game and claimed to be injured, so Diamantidis jumped from the bench a gave the close win for the Greeks 123-122. Nikos Pappas was crowned MVP of the game with 24 points, while Hart had 18 for the Rest Of the World.

During the half time, the most impressive event of the day took place, the dunk contest. Kenny Gabriel from Rethimno was crowned Champion despite D.J. Stephens’ attempts. The dunk that gave him the win involved his brother, who tossed him the ball from the stands and the American player dunked it, securing his domination.

At the end of the dunk contest, Thodoris Papaloukas and Kostas Tsartsaris were honored for their long and succesful career.

After the buzzer, the fans gave the players a standing ovation to thank them for the great performance. The stars of the day now focus on the Greek League, and some of them, to their European Duties.
