The greek floor general is the most valuable player of this year’s competition after leading Lokomotiv Kuban to the Eurocup Final.

Nick Calathes had an excellent all around season for the Russian club, leading them for their possible first European trophy ever when they face Uxue Bilbao Basket next Sunday in Charleroi, Belgique.

To attribute this individual award the panel of Euroleague experts relied on his individual and team’s performances during all the rounds that

were played until this final. Calathes joins now a great company with last year’s MVP Patrick Beverly (Spartak St Peters

burg), 2011 Dontaye Draper (Cedevita Zagreb) and 2010 Chuck Eidson (Lietuvos Rytas).

Lokomotiv’s Greek point guard is only 24 years old but extremely experienced in European competitions because since he won the Euroleague playing a good role for Panathinaikos before joining the Russian squad.

His stats show how essential he was in this journey to Charleroi playing 33 minutes with 14,7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.5 per game in the regular season. For the playoff games he added 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.2 assists on barely 37 minutes per contest.
