Estonian champions BC Kalev/Cramo have confirmed that they will play in next season’s Eurocup.
After winning the Estonian title for a third season in a row, the team based in the capital Tallinn has confirmed their participation into Europe’s second tier tournament despite slight financial concerns.
Kalev/Cramo claimed a bronze medal in last season’s Baltic League but finished with a disappointing 3-15 record in the strong VTB League, ending up well outside the playoff picture.
However, despite an invitation to join, British Basketball League champions the Leicester Riders have declined to participate this year due to lack of financial resources. A BBL side has not entered any form of European competition since the Guildford Heat’s woeful 0-10 record in the old ULEB Cup back in the 2007-2008 season.
