Kestutis Kemzura, head coach of Lithuanian national team, announced moments ago the names of three players who will not continue the preparations for EuroBasket 2011.

Martynas Gecevicius who signed a deal with Olympiacos recently, didn’t make the final cut this year. He made his debut last summer though he saw limited court time in World Championship in Turkey. The sharp-shooting guard is not known for his quickness which could be one of the reason of the decision to leave him outside the final roster since Kemzura is supporter of an intense game on both ends of the court.

Even though Renaldas Seibutis had a very good club season, he won’t be among the 12 players wearing Lithuanian vest during EuroBasket 2011. 26-year-old shooting guard will be playing for Lietuvos Rytas next season.

The third player who will leave the team is Donatas Motiejunas. The 20th pick of this year’s NBA Draft couldn’t make the cut for the second year in a row.

Lithuania will continue preparations with 14 players on the squad until the last two players are cut.
