Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porzingis is facing an uncertain basketball future as he continues to experience symptoms associated with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

Porzingis, who first publicly disclosed his diagnosis last year, has experienced periods of improvement and setbacks while dealing with the condition.

According to ESPN, retirement remains a possibility if the Latvian big man is unable to make significant progress in his recovery.

Meanwhile, Porzingis is earning $20 million this season, with only a small portion of his salary guaranteed for the following campaign.

His contract structure gives Golden State considerable flexibility in potential trade negotiations, as the deal effectively functions as an expiring contract.

The Warriors could use Porzingis’ contract alongside other available assets to explore possible roster moves.
