Olympiacos head coach David Blatt talked about the decision of the “Reds” to forfeit the Greek Cup semi-final against Panathinaikos (13/02).
Here is what the experienced coach told the Israeli website Sport 5:
“It was a very difficult situation. I fully support the owners and the management, but I don’t necessarily agree with the decision.
I am new here. I don’t have a long-term view on the situation. However, the team made the decision to take a stand in hope of a change in favor of fairness.”
Olympiacos were sanctioned for their decision to leave the game against the “Greens” and six points were deducted from the Greek Basket League. Consequently, the “Reds” dropped to the sixth place.
