The sanction of Olympiacos was announced earlier today, with the “Reds” deducting six points in the Greek Basket League standings.
Consequently, they dropped to the sixth place, with 25 points, but they have the chance to appeal the decision.
Olympiacos was sanctioned based on the rules of the Greek Basket League. If the sanction was based on the rules of the Greek Basketball Federation, then they would receive a penalty of -1 or -2 points.
The “Reds” decided to forfeit the Greek Cup semi-final against Panathinaikos on Wednesday (13/02) and, eventually, lost the game (20-0).
