Chris Warren (Higher Vision Sports) who has proven to be one of the best small forwards in europe with his consistent play for the past three seasons in the euroleague where he has averaged over 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game for three consecutive seasons while also winning a few Croatian Championships is packing his bags and is preparing a letter to FIBA and the Italian Players Association today stating the same after waiting for payment for two months.
The Avellino Club literally owes all the players salary in excess of one million dollars. The owners, the Ercolino brothers, in dramatic fashion came into the locker rooms before an important must win game two weeks ago and promised the players that they would get all their money and gave the players checks that the players cannot make good on with the banks for the club. The banks have stated there is no money in the Ercolino account. Warren after being patient is now sending an initial letter to FIBA where the team already has a standing suit that could put the Club's very existence in harmsway.
Far worst the Club has not offered Warren's release stating that he is on a two year contract and they want him for both years. "Avellino is a euroleague club but they have not exhibited the respect, professionalism and communication that most every Euroleague club exhibits. These matters usually don't get to the media when you communicate. It has been difficult for the players to focus and win in a situation where some of them have delinquent payments far longer than Warren. I always hope that we can solve issues but this time it doesn't look good," said his representative from Higher Vision Sports.
