Khimki players will honour the memory of the late Tyler Honeycutt in the pregame introduction of tonight’s match against Olympiacos.

Per the Russian website Izvestia, the players of the Russian club will wear Honeycutt’s jersey in the pregame introduction.

Khimki GM, Pavel Astakhov, said relatively: “The players will come to the team presentation in the game against Olympiacos in jerseys with Honeycutt’s name. Tyler was an important part of the club, we wanted him to stay in Khimki for the upcoming season.

The entire office and our fans loved him very much and even made a small memorial dedicated to the athlete. This is a great tragedy, and we can only once again offer condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Tyler Honeycutt spent the past three seasons with Khimki and was found dead on July 7th in California. Following an autopsy, the coroner confirmed that his death was a suicide (by a gunshot wound to the head) and closed the case.
