Per Basketball Sphere, former Brose Bamberg head coach, Andrea Trinchieri, has been in talks with the Toronto Raptors in order to become an assistant coach.

Tοronto had initially made an offer to Sarunas Jasikevicius, who had been interviewed for the head coach position.

Yet, when the Raptors hired Nick Nurse as the head coach, the team wanted Jasikevicius to become Nurse’s assistant.

With the Lithuanian coach rejecting the offer and staying with Zalgiris Kaunas, Toronto are now considering to sign Trinchieri.

The 49-year-old head coach has a five-year Euroleague experience (Cantu, Brose Bamberg) and has been named the EuroCup Coach of the Year in 2014.

He has also won three straight German League titles with Bamberg (2015-2017).
