Scottie Barnes on Davion Mitchell: “The way he guards the ball is probably the best in this league”

Toronto Raptors star Scottie Barnes recently had high praise for Davion Mitchell’s on-ball defense.

“His mindset is always focused on defense. That’s what he came into the league and that’s what he’s going to show every single night. The way he guards the ball is probably the best in this league. He’s really hard to try to go by. 1-on-1 defense, the way he moves his feet, his physicality. The way he uses his strength when he’s guarding people, guarding these guards, to be able to body bump, move his feet, stay with them at any time. That’s really important, that’s real special. So to have those point guards, which is elite at this level, and him being able to guard them and be able to stop them: that’s huge for this team.”
