Ahead of Vytautas’ second LKL game since the Ball brothers made their debut, head coach Virginijus Seskus has urged LaMelo Ball to stop shooting long 40-foot jump shots and focus on working hard to help the team.

Seskus admits that both LiAngelo and LaMelo are clearly not used to practising hard but the veteran playcaller admits that LaMelo has genuine skill but needs to calm down on offence.

“When I watch them in practices, they stand out, especially the little one. You can’t control that little chipmunk,” Seskus said on Lithuanian TV. “You say, ‘Don’t shoot 40-footers.’ Next thing you know, he’s shooting 40-footers.”

“He’s used to doing that stuff. They’re not used to training hard. You need to make them give 100 percent in practices.”

“The older one, LiAngelo, he takes this stuff more serious and he tries to involve his brother,” Seskus added.

Both Ball brothers were both held scoreless in limited minutes in their “official” debuts for Vytautas in a loss to Lietkebelis with father LaVar criticising coach Seskus by stating that he should have played both LiAngelo and LaMelo more.
